Core Facilities
Our researcher laboratories are located at four sites on the Vancouver General Hospital campus; the Jack Bell Research Centre, the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Pavilion, Heather Pavilion East, and the BC Centre for Disease Control.
Resources and ideas are shared freely within the IIRC group and a number of core facilities are available to all of our members. Many of these facilities are also available at cost to members of the larger research community.
Cell Analysis Core
This facility is comprised of immunofluorecent cell imaging technologies for both analytical and functional studies of immune cells involved in transplantation and host/pathogen interactions. These include flow cytometric analysis and sorting and fluorescence microscopy.
- BD FACSCalibur
- Zeiss Axioplan 2 Imaging Microscope
Gene Analysis Core
The IIRC is involved in a significant amount of genetic research and we have access to technology that allows a wide range of genetic analysis. In house facilities include DNA sequencing, quantitative PCR, and DNA microarray analysis.
- ABI Q-PCR 5700
- Wallac Luminescence and scintillation counter
- Bio-Rad-Molecular imager
- Alpha InnoTech FluorChem 8000
- ABI 310 DNA sequencer
